诞生在餐巾纸上的奥运会经典歌曲《手拉手》
作为《手拉手》这首歌的曲作者，莫罗德先生认为这首歌之所以非常受欢迎，首先是因为歌曲的旋律舒缓、简洁、朗朗上口。此外，“手拉手”这个词的寓意也非常广泛。“我们可以理解为和平、团结、协作的奥运精神。” 他还谦虚地认为，这首歌的成功也得益于韩籍组合"高丽亚那"的成功演绎，以及韩国奥组委在开幕式之前在国内不断地通过媒体播放这首歌，使得歌曲在开幕式演唱当天就取得了万人同唱的壮观场面。 提起这首享誉世界的奥运歌曲的创作过程，莫罗德神秘一笑：“你要发誓不把这个秘密告诉别人我才能告诉你!” 原来一位朋友将这首歌的片断拿给他看，并建议他用《手拉手》做为曲名。一日莫罗德到餐厅吃饭，期间随口开始用不同的旋律哼唱。突然灵感在脑中闪现，他赶忙随手在一张餐巾纸上记下了这首日后被萨马兰奇先生视为奥运会会歌曲中最成功的经典奥运旋律。 1987年，莫罗多先生将此曲精心制作成一盘精美的录像带交给韩国奥组委，韩国方面对这首歌曲如获至宝，只是建议莫罗多能否在歌词中加上一句韩语以体现东道主特色。于是在1988年汉城奥运会开幕式上我们就听到的就是以朝鲜民歌“阿里郎”里的一句咏唱作为结尾的这首奥运歌曲。 在汉城奥运会前夕，《手拉手》在全球顺利发行，并且迅速成了17个国家和地区排行榜的冠军歌曲。 遥想当年，韩籍组合“高丽亚那”(原唱)与1万8千人手拿歌词的韩国观众共同唱响“hand in hand”时，莫罗多先生依旧神情激动，感慨万千。
