KRNIC stands for Korea Network Information Center. Many countries around the world have 'NIC' which manages their own national Internet resources. For example, there is JPNIC in Japan, CNNIC in China and Korea has KRNIC. KRNIC was incorporated in June 1999. With the establishment of Korea Internet &Security Agency(KISA) in 2009. KRNIC is carrying out its roles as a Internet resources management organization under KISA. KRNIC is in charge of the coordination of Korean Internet resources, such as• the management of kr domain and development of kr domain policy• the allocation and assignment of the Internet protocol ("IP") addresses and autonomous system ("AS") numbers• the operation and evolution of DNS, etc.

 行使国家互联网络信息中心的职责，作为韩国信息社会基础设施的建设者和运行者，负责管理维护韩国互联网地址系统，引领韩国互联网地址行业发展，权威发布韩国互联网统计信息，代表韩国参与国际互联网社群。
